The Department of Criminal Justice invites applications for two (2) tenure-track Assistant Professor positions beginning August 1, 2018 (pending funding). The Department of Criminal Justice offers Bachelors, Masters of Science (including a web-based program) and doctoral degrees. Housed in the College of Arts and Sciences, the Department consists of the degree programs and the Southern Police Institute.
These positions require a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or in a related discipline. The areas of specialization are open for these positions but ability to teach at the graduate level is preferred. A J.D. alone is not considered an appropriate degree for these positions. ABD candidates may be considered if degree completion is expected prior to August 1, 2018
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to teach, conduct and publish research in their specialty area at a level consistent with the requirements of a Research I University with a doctoral program. The positions also requires engagement in service at the university, professional, and community levels, participation in curriculum development, program planning, student activities, and collaboration with criminal justice agencies on evaluation research and technical assistance projects.
