The Prison Education Program at New York University (PEP) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship. This fellowship is open to scholars across disciplines whose research focuses on issues germane to prison studies, prison education and social impacts of incarceration and criminal punishment.
This postdoctoral appointment begins on September 1, 2018. It includes a $42,000 annual stipend, a $20,000 housing allowance, full medical benefits and assistance with relocation. The fellow chosen is expected to teach two undergraduate courses per year, one of which will be held at Wallkill correctional facility. In addition, the fellow will assist PEPs Faculty Director and Administrative Director in planning and administering public programming, and participating in other activities of PEP. The fellow is expected to be in residence during the academic year.
