Penn State Harrisburg, School of Behavioral Sciences and Education, invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor of Psychology to begin in fall 2019. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in psychology or related field by August 2019. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and be expected to teach across the curriculum of Psychology. All teaching interests and experience will be considered; however, preference will be given to candidates with experience in neuropsychology, forensic psychology, or cognitive psychology. This is a one-year position with the strong possibility of renewal. Teaching responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology as required by the program and in the candidate's area of specialization. Additional responsibilities include supervising student research and writing, advising students and offering career guidance, and providing service to the School, College, and University. Teaching load is typically 8 courses per academic year, and teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening, and/or weekend classes as needed. Teaching is the primary emphasis of this position; however, research opportunities are available and encouraged. The Psychology Program is housed in the division of Social Sciences and Psychology in the School of Behavioral Sciences and Education. We offer a B.S. in Psychology and three graduate degrees leading to an M.A. in Applied Clinical Psychology, Community Psychology and Social Change, and Applied Behavior Analysis. The M.A. in Applied Clinical Psychology prepares students for licensure as Master's level therapists.
