Assistant/Associate Professor of Evaluation/Evaluation Research, Department of Educational Psychology, College of Education, University of Illinois at Chicago
The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor in Evaluation to begin August 16, 2019. This position will have a primary affiliation with the Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment team but with also contribute to other areas within the department and the College. We are looking for a candidate who can help us to expand our formal program offerings in evaluation and evaluation research and who will spearhead the development of an evaluation certificate program for the University. Potential research areas are open, but we are particularly interested in candidates who have research expertise in one or more of the following areas: the development of new, culturally-responsive evaluation theories and methodology; the practice of evaluation in diverse contexts such as educational organizations, foundations, government agencies, healthcare settings, and community-based organizations; evaluating diversity, inclusion or equity initiatives. Teaching responsibilities include instruction in the theory and practice of evaluation at both undergraduate and graduate levels in both face-to-face and online environments. Other courses may include mixed-methods and qualitative methods for evaluation and research or candidate’s areas of expertise. The successful candidate will also be expected to advise graduate students, serve on doctoral committees, supervise doctoral research, and pursue external funding to support the candidate’s research.
Qualifications. An earned Ph.D. in evaluation, educational psychology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Candidates at the associate level should have a record of academic publication in peer reviewed journals, external grant and/or contract funded research and evaluation, and teaching experience in both face-to-face and online environments. Candidates at the assistant level should have a demonstrated potential for academic publication, experience working on grant-funded projects and a commitment to obtaining external funding for research, and demonstrated potential for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are also particularly interested in candidates with experience in course and program development within higher education as well as candidates with substantial field experience as an evaluator.
