Open Rank Faculty Position in Immigrant Health
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health, a leading institution in public health research and education, invites applications to fill an open ranked tenure-track faculty position at its regional campus in El Paso, Texas. UTHealth School of Public Health has six campuses throughout Texas in Austin, Brownsville, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, with the El Paso campus located in a multi-cultural metroplex along the U.S.- Mexico border. More than two million people from El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México comprise this growing community evolving from economic and educational revitalization. The diverse and dynamic population within the Paso del Norte Region is a microcosm of the complex public health issues experienced throughout the United States. UTHealth School of Public Health seeks a leader to launch a program in immigrant health that addresses the lifespan health challenges resulting from environmental stressors, behaviors and exposures, and public policy influenced by immigration.
The selected candidate will report to the Dean of UTHealth School of Public Health and serve as a faculty member in one of the School’s academic departments. This successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading a research program in immigrant health, recruiting and retaining faculty, and developing and maintaining collaborative relationships.
Ideal candidates will have experience in leading multidisciplinary research teams in immigration health. Candidates should have an earned doctoral degree in public health or a related field. An established track record of research publications and external research funding is required.
