The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Department of Psychology expects to make two tenure-track appointments (one at the Associate Professor level, the other at the Assistant Professor level) in Clinical Psychology beginning in August 2020. Qualified candidates should have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology (license eligible), and a research and teaching (undergraduate and graduate) focus related to clinical fundamentals writ large (e.g. assessment; therapy; cutting-edge/tech approaches; prevention, etc.) We value candidates with the skills, experience, and commitment to contribute to the department mission of promoting social justice among underserved populations and a dedication to inclusive excellence in higher education. We are interested in candidates with strong potential to attract external funding, as well as contribute to the life, growth, and vitality of the department. The successful candidate will be a member of UMBC’s Ph.D. program in Human Services Psychology, which is grounded in the biopsychosocial model and includes integrative training tracks in Clinical Psychology (APA accredited), Community Psychology, and Behavioral Medicine. The department also has an Applied Developmental Psychology Ph.D. program and an Applied Behavior Analysis M.A. (https://psychology.umbc.edu/). Candidates whose area of specialization would be synergistic with any of these five departmental programs and tracks are particularly desirable.

It is located in the Baltimore-Washington corridor near major medical schools, NIH, and other federal agencies that afford extensive opportunities for research collaboration.
