Title Assistant Professor of Community Psychology
Location California State University, Sacramento, Department of Psychology
Description The Psychology Department at Sacramento State is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor position in Community Psychology. Preferences include community psychology research interests; ability to develop community partnerships with campus communities as well as local communities, voluntary/nonprofit organizations, and/or entrepreneurs working to address issues of sustainability (e.g., community development and capacity, health equity); ability to work with marginalized and underrepresented populations; ability to develop community psychology coursework that focuses on high-impact educational practices (e.g., Participatory Action Research, Prevention and Intervention Science, Community Program Evaluation, Community & Organizational Careers Skill Building, Social Network Analysis); ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate research methods and statistics courses, core courses in the candidate’s area of specialization, and capstone courses; and interest and ability in using a wide variety of teaching techniques and information technology in the teaching and learning process. Teaching will include undergraduate and/or graduate research methods and statistics courses, core courses in the candidate’s area of specialization, and capstone courses. The successful candidate should have the ability to advise both undergraduate and graduate levels; maintain an active research program involving students; develop community partnerships and supervise undergraduate fieldwork; and provide service to the department, college, university, community and profession. College-level teaching and research experience is highly desired. ABD candidates will be considered. If ABD, candidates will be required to complete the doctoral degree by January 2018.
