Job Posting Research Associate I Strategic Prevention Solutions is hiring a part to full-time Research Associate I to assist with a variety of evaluation and prevention planning projects. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Research Associate I personnel support all research and evaluation activities at SPS, with assignment to specific project support as needed . Research Associate Is have obtained a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in research, public health, or related field or may be masters-level students with some research experience. These associates have fundamental research qualifications and skills including: • Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative methods and analysis • Survey/Questionnaire/Poll design and development • Experience with data visualization (e.g., creating infographics, charts, figures) • Experience using platforms such as MS Excel and SurveyGizmo to manage data • Some math and statistical skills • Effective communicator who is proficient in English written language The primary role of a Research Associate I is to provide support to ongoing research and/or evaluation projects . Generally, they are asked to perform the following duties: • Carry out evaluation projects according to protocols and plans developed by the team • Develop surveys, questionnaires, or other evaluation tools under the guidance of the project lead • Collect and enter data/information collected • Produce charts and other visualizations of data • Review plans, products, and reports (including proofreading and editing to ensure accuracy) QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a field in which evaluation and program planning skills were learned and practiced. Examples include applied fields such as public health, social work, and community psychology. Experience: At least one year of hands - on experience doing community-based program planning and evaluation activities. Preference given to candidates who have experience living and/or working among Spanish - speaking and/or Native American/Alaska Native populations. Preference given to candidates who are fluent in Spanish. Preference given to candidates who are geographically located in Anchorage or Juneau, Alaska, but this is not required. Additional Qualifications: § Strong MS Word and MS Excel skills § Experience collecting and/or summarizing data for community needs and resources assessments § Experience using SPSS and other data management and statistics software preferred, but not required § Excellent writing, reading, and editing skills § Ability to work independently, yet be a team player § Positive, strengths - based focus on the role of evaluation in a “real world” setting, experience working within a non - profit environment is preferred, but not required § Comfort and experience with using online training and meeting tools, such as GoToMeeting, Zoom, Basecamp project management, etc. § Empowerment-minded; able to accept that the community has knowledge to inform any program planning or evaluation process § Excellent time management, self-starter, responsible § Ability to work from home or identified office space. This is a virtual position when not on site in communities. SALARY: This position is a part to full - time Research Associate I. Salary is negotiable commensurate with skills and experience and is expected to fall within a range of $42,000 – $52,000 annual salary .
