The University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB), School of Pharmacy is currently seeking a Director of Qualitative Research (Director, Research Project) for the PATIENTS program of the Pharmaceutical Health Services Research (PHSR) Department. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the overall strategic direction research and training initiatives of the PATIENTS program. The Director of Qualitative Research will oversee major research initiatives that include the development related to ethical and human subjects protections (HSP) issues; provide guidance on the study design to be more inclusive of patient and stakeholder engagement, qualitative and mixed-methods research activities; support patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) and community-engaged research (CEnR) studies on the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) campus in collaboration with the UMB Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR); implementation science; PCOR-related initiatives for reducing health disparities; and dissemination of findings to patients and other stakeholders and the communities we serve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health, psychology, sociology, nursing, chemistry, biology or another scientific discipline appropriate to position required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience involving program planning and coordination experience in a related field with at least two (2) years in research specialization.
Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of experience with overall responsibility for program direction, coordination and implementation.
Other: No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement.

HIRING RANGE: $103-113K; Commensurate with education and experience.
