The Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate in Psychology. The research associate will work in the lab of Professor Joseph Allen and participate in Psychology projects funded by internal funding. This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week.
This position is to lead an intervention enhancing social connection targeting entering UVA students and to assist in the evaluation and dissemination of results regarding the intervention.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Completion of a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or related areas within Psychology related discipline is required by the appointment start date. A strong background in adolescent development is preferred. The most qualified applicants will have: 1) expertise in group interventions for adolescents and young adults, 2) demonstrated competence in training and supervising student leaders of group interventions, 3) experience with quantitative and qualitative data analyses of clinical trials of interventions, 4) excellent written and oral communication skills, 5) clinician-level expertise assessing serious mental health problems and suicidal risk.
