Indigenous Community Well-Being - seeking candidates for postdoctoral research fellow position

Oct 07, 2021

This is to request your help finding a candidate for a research fellow position with Prof. Joe Gone focusing on Indigenous community well-being. We seek someone with a PhD in psychology, sociology, medical anthropology, social work, public health or another field relevant to partnering with Indigenous communities to assess the relevance, efficiency, and effectiveness of mental health and psychosocial helping services and, together, re-imagine and re-design such services toward greater cultural consonance, therapeutic benefit, and community self-determination. In-depth consultation with community leaders, health experts, and other local knowledge carriers—and circulation of lessons learned through routine academic publication and community dissemination—will be essential to the success of these endeavors.

We would appreciate your forwarding the attached position description to all who might be interested as candidates or who might know of qualified individuals with expertise in, and passion for, North American Indigenous community mental health.
