DePaul University’s Center for Community Research is home to several externally funded research projects. We focus on applied research involving a variety of health issues including chronic fatigue syndrome and myalgic encephalomyelitis, Oxford homes for individuals in recovery for substance abuse, and violence prevention in Chicago Public Schools. We are looking for motivated research assistants to join our team. This would be a great experience for any graduates looking to gain more research skills, presentations, and possibly even publications before applying to doctoral programs in psychology.

Job Title: Part-time Research Project Assistant

The duties and responsibilities of the lab coordinator can greatly vary, but potential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Administrative issues such as helping with budgets and procard expenses.
  • Research activities and writing papers.
  • Data management issues.
  • Other administrative duties such as assisting with needed reports.
  • Participating in weekly research meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree or higher-level course work.
  • Candidates should have a background, training, or experience in psychology or related fields.

Other Skills & Abilities Required

  • Must have general computer knowledge and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, etc.) and SPSS.
  • Good to have some experience with budgets.
