Tenure-Track Position at Metropolitan State

Dec 05, 2022

The Psychology Department at Metropolitan State University has an opening for a faculty position to start next Fall (with the usual legal disclaimer that the position is contingent on budget).  The Twin Cities area is a great place to live – arts, parks, sports, a wide range of neighborhoods, and some great schools.  We are looking for an applied Psychologist who would enjoy teaching our Diversity and Ethics course (which has been a gateway course to our Psychology major since the 1900’s), and some of the other courses/areas listed in the job posting.  We also encourage all new faculty to develop courses in their own area(s) of interest.  The details are in the job posting (please address all required and preferred qualifications).

We are unionized and the starting salary offer is based on experience and degree (providing motivation to finish that PhD).  There are minimum salary levels specified in the faculty contract, but the initial offer could be higher based on relevant work experience (determined by HR based on some formula unknown to me).  Negotiation can be part of the process as well.  For more information, navigate to our Union (https://www.ifo.org/) and click on the link for “IFO Contract” – the benefits are in line with state-supported universities (also in listed in the contract).
