Job Summary:
This position conducts research by assisting with the collection, entry and cleaning of data and descriptive results.

Job Responsibilities (Essential Duties):
Performs surveys, interviews, observations or uses other methods according to established research protocols.  Collect, process, and analyze data.  Summarize research and test results.  May assist with study protocol development.  Coordinate the ordering, inventory and maintenance of equipment, instruments and data collection and analysis tools.

Communication:
Prepare and contribute statistical data and pertinent information for papers, grants, and other documents.  Complete required documentation for regulatory agencies.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Job Knowledge & Skills, Education, Experience

Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field.  A minimum of one-year related research experience.  Knowledge of research concepts, practices, and procedures.

Best Candidate:
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Undergraduate degree in psychology, public health, education, sociology, or other related social science fields
Experience with quantitative and qualitative analyses
Prior research experience, particularly community-engaged research
Experience working with community stakeholders in community settings
Comfort with being in medical settings (e.g., primary care)
Interests in digital mental health

With guidance, training, and supervision from Dr. Gustafson and Dr. Stiles-Shields:

Conduct literature reviews and gather project background information, as required
Recruit and consent participants for study activities
Conduct primary data collection through interviews and surveys (in both English and Spanish) with community members and staff from community partner organizations
Converse with guardians (in both English and Spanish) about study activities for their teens
Assist with Community Advisory Board Meetings
Assist in analyzing qualitative data
Assist in preparation of presentations and reports for dissemination of project data and findings
Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as contributing to IRB submissions, notetaking during meetings, document review and editing
