SCRA Presidential Office Hours

As a member of the officer stream of SCRA, I have acquired a great appreciation for the many ways our members participate and lead the organization, in formal and informal ways. One of my goals is to develop an initiative to support members’ leadership and participation within SCRA and beyond. To that end, we are looking for member input to the following questions:

  • What should a leadership program for SCRA look like?
  • Why would a member participate in a program?
  • What value would a leadership training have on participants?
  • What should be the duration of the training?
  • What should be included in a training program?
  • What skills are needed to be an effective leader within SCRA?

Please share your responses and suggestions in the following padlet by April 8th). We will review the responses at the next Presidential Office Hours on April 9th. Please join us on April 9th (see below for times and the Zoom link) whether or not you complete the padlet.

Thanks so much for your consideration.

Research Scholar Application Season is Underway

1. The application period begins on March 14, 2024 and continues through Wednesday April 24, 2024.

2. A primary goal of the SCRA Scholars Program is to advance the research careers of untenured community psychologists to help them successfully obtain tenure. Ultimately, through the Research Scholar Program, the SCRA Research Council seeks to enhance the intellectual contributions of promising community psychology scholars and increase the number of articles authored by community psychologists in community psychology journals.

3. Untenured faculty who may apply for the program include, but are not limited to, community, community clinical, community social, community organizational, community health, and community developmental psychologists.
