The Applied Community Psychology (ACP) Specialization at Antioch University, Los Angeles (AULA) is recruiting adjunct faculty to teach in-person. ACP is a 17u Specialization that is part of a 90u Master’s program in Clinical Psychology. AULA is located in Culver City, CA.

Currently, we are recruiting adjunct faculty to teach two courses and one workshop:

(1) Community Psychology: Theory and Methods in the Fall 2023 quarter. This is a 3-unit, 10-week course. The opportunity could become available every quarter.

(2) Prevention and Health Promotion in the Spring 2024 quarter. This is a 3-unit, 10-week course. This is taught once a year in the Spring and could become available every year.

(3) Grant Writing for Non-Profits in Spring 2024. This is a 3-unit, 3-day workshop spread over a 10-week quarter. This is taught once a year in the Spring and could become available every year.

Additionally, there are 1 and 2-unit, one or two-day workshops that may be available in the future including Coalition Building in Community Practice (1-day, 1-u), Social Policy and Advocacy in Community Practice (1-day, 1u), and Asset-Based Community Development (2-day, 2u).

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Community Psychology, ABDs may be considered.
For the Community Psychology and Prevention courses, experience teaching Master’s level introductory community psychology courses covering social ecological theory, prevention theory and empowerment theory. Expertise in facilitating experiential learning, group work and group exercises in class. Experience supervising student fieldwork (i.e., developing consultation agreements, writing technical reports and collaborating with community partners in the field).
For Grant Writing, experience in grant-writing, experience teaching and supervising Master’s level students in obtaining grants. All students in the course partner with a community-based organization and submit a grant application on behalf of the partner organization.

Adjunct Teaching Rates:

3 units = $4,185
2 units = $2,790
1 unit = $1,395
