In the last decade, the Government of Zimbabwe with the assistance of donor funds has managed to create opportunities for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW). This has improved access to education, health, and socio- economic empowerment. Girls however remain excluded in some parts of the nation, and this was heightened by the COVID 19 era which exposed the AGYW to a lot of challenges and led to the country recording a 20% increase in school dropouts, the majority being girls. According to researchers, the main reasons for dropping out of school were marriages, early pregnancies, and HIV/Aids. This talk seeks to advocate for a change in the perception of roles for women in Zimbabwe. AGYW should be allowed to reach their full potential as equal members of the society.
