SCRA Africa Regional Community Stakeholder Forum: Virtual Needs Assessment

Introduction: The Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA) seeks to conduct a virtual community stakeholder forum for the African region to identify pressing needs, available resources, and opportunities for collaborative solutions. The forum will bring together approximately 20-30 diverse community stakeholders across the region to provide critical input through facilitated small-group discussions and priority setting.
Forum Overview: SCRA Africa is convening a virtual forum to conduct a needs assessment by engaging regional community stakeholders. As a leading organization for research and action in community psychology, SCRA recognizes the importance of directly engaging with community members and leaders to identify priority issues, resources, and opportunities to foster
collaborative solutions.
Forum Goals
- Gather input from diverse community stakeholders on the most pressing local needs. • Identify community strengths, assets, and existing resources to build upon • Develop priorities for community research, interventions, and actions. • Establish relationships with stakeholders for ongoing collaboration.
Proposed Participants
The forum will bring together approximately 20-30 stakeholders representing:
- Healthcare leaders
- Youth advocates
- Women’s empowerment organizations
- Human rights groups
- Faith leaders
- Nonprofit directors
- Educational professionals/scholar-activist
- Local government agencies
- Other community leaders/mobilizers
